The Need
The third world largest service oil company is developing a system of interconnected devices able to lower risks associated to operators working on drilling platforms.
Devices operating in a drilling platform need to comply with several requirements, which are not common in the market. Thus, there is no (or only partial) solutions available in the market.

The Project
BlueThink is developing a suite of wearable devices able to collect and share useful information related to the health and safety of human operators in hazardous environments.
As such, BlueThink is also devising a reliable communication infrastructure among the different devices, which is a crucial enabler to effective solutions, given the complexity of the target contexts.
The Benefits
Both the wearable devices and the communication system will be developed in a way so that high reliability with low redundancy of gateways is granted.
This approach could be leveraged in other applications with similar needs (e.g. energy production sector), thus improving safety and, eventually, reducing insurance costs.
